Before starting Grinning Jaguar, Terrie was the online manager for O’Reilly Media’s Maker Media Division, publishers of MAKE and CRAFT magazine. In the summer of 2008 she earned a certificate in Permaculture Design from Regenerative Design Institute. An enthusiastic amateur naturalist and citizen scientist, you might find her birding local trails, working with her animals, or immersed in a project that she’ll photograph and later post to Flickr.

See her resume and publications list for details on her work and writing.

About the Name “Grinning Jaguar”

The name was inspired by a dream about being able to touch a jaguar.

Jaguars were important symbols in ancient Mesoamerica. Because of their skill in moving between realms—land and water, day and night—they were thought to be protectors of shamans moving between the earth and the spirit world.
